Alive Writers Society
A little bit about what you can expect from ยซWe The Writersยป
A/N: This probably should have been my first post since it's kind of an introduction to my newsletters, but better late than never, right? Well, here I am finally. I hope this helps you figure out what you can find on ยซWe The Writersยป and whether joining my journey will be helpful to you or not.
Yes, they, the great writers of yesteryear, are dead.
I donโt think thatโs news to any of us, but I understand that sometimes itโs hard to remember that we, the writers of today, are alive. I think I can take the liberty of saying that most of us look back and feel a nostalgia for the glory of past times. Sometimes we get stuck in that place, looking back, and itโs not good to forget that there is a today and a tomorrow.
The problem with me is thatโฆ well, I canโt be a pessimist for too long. Seriously, Iโve tried to get myself down by wanting to know what it feels like or to โbeing normal.โ Nah, Iโm not normal, Iโm weirder than the weirdest thing in the universe. I donโt mean that I never fall or that Iโve never had a hard time; nope, what I mean is that itโs not in my nature to stay underwater for too long. My need to breathe is greater than my curiosity to explore the bottom of the river. Thatโs just how I am, and I think itโs okay because thatโs how my Creator made me. Why would I try to go against His will?
I am a Christian writer. My stories may not speak directly about Christ, but I am still a Christian. And you know what? I am alive. Not only because I am literally still breathing and exchanging carbon dioxide with the trees, but because Christ is alive and He lives in me. I believe He is telling me that itโs time to stop looking back and remember what we have in Him today, but above all, to fight for what is coming tomorrow. Because we are a society of writers who are alive, and we cannot let the world die without knowing the Truth.
So, yes, I'm here to be a living writer and live for Him.
On the other hand, having a newsletter has always been one of my big dreams and finally, thanks to Substack and to my mom for talking to me about it every day as if it were the most wonderful thing (I couldnโt agree with her more now), that dream is coming true. And I love it! Itโs even better than I had imagined! But thatโs not the point, let's go back to where I left off.
Iโve been on Substack for two and a half months interacting with several writers, from poets and coaches of all kinds to storytellers and preachers, and it has helped me realize what my purpose here is.
My purpose at Substack
ENCOURAGE CHRISTIAN WRITERS: How will I accomplish that? Well, first of all with God's help. Secondly, although I am here to help anyone who wants it, my main goal is to encourage Christian writers. To do this, you will receive a weekly newsletter every Tuesday! In addition to that, I will keep up with you as much as I can.
CREATE STRATEGIES TO HELP YOU STAY FOCUSED, MOTIVATED, DEAL WITH WRITERโS BLOCK, AND ANYTHING ELSE YOU ASK FOR: Sometimes youโre just a writer and you donโt want a looong article about boring topics (gotcha, I know youโre thinking of mine for reference) and all you want is a quick exit method. I love structuring and organizing, so yes, youโll get โstrategy capsulesโ from time to time, too.
PROMOTE OTHER WRITERS AND HELP THEM REACH OTHER EARS: I know it can be difficult for some to promote their own voice (I myself am terrible at it), but for some incomprehensible reason itโs very easy to promote others. Thatโs why, through some surprises and other strategies, I plan to help more people know about you and your work.
Challenges on the way!
I love challenges, they help me stay focused and remember what Iโm doing and why Iโm doing it. If by chance you are interested, Iโll be sharing challenges that we can all participate in!
Iโm still trying to figure out how Iโm going to make the dynamic work, but Iโm working on it, so if any of you have ideas or suggestions you'd like to share, youโre more than welcome to fill in the comments with whatever pops into your minds.
Also, the challenges thing will be like a bonus for my subscribers because it will be organized in the SC (Subscribers Chat), so... yeah, you have to be subscribed to be able to participate. Sorry, I think itโs a good idea to give my subscribers something extra.
I donโt know, I have a lot of ideas and a thousand projects that I would love to do, but I donโt want to add too many tasks to the schedule and get overwhelmed in a short time (which tends to happen more often than I would like). I also donโt want to overstimulate you.
Conclusion
Also, while I endlessly enjoy interacting directly with each and every one of you, I want to encourage you to interact with other subscribers if you feel up to it. Why? Because we are a fellowship! Or at least I like to see it that way, a place where we can build friendships, have fun, and find support in hard times. Plus, we are brothers and sisters in Christ! Isnโt that great? So donโt hold back, if you see someone you share tastes with donโt hesitate to say so, or if someone has a question and you know the answer, why not answer it? Anyway, my point is that if you want to say something just do it. Youโll feel better after doing it, pinky promise. ;)
Not gonna lie, I donโt know much about writing techniques, concepts, and I donโt know all the literary genresโthere are dozens of them these days! But even though I donโt know much, Iโd like to share the little I do have if it means I can offer a little bit of help. Iโm not good at giving advice either, Iโm good at keeping other peopleโs spirits up, thatโs what Iโm good at. So in order to be myself, to be authentic, and to not pretend to be something Iโm not, thatโs what Iโm going to try to achieve at We The Writers.
Thatโs all for today, fellow writers. Remember that we are alive and that we can be the ones to break the vicious circle. Until next time. Over and out!

Random tip: Are you dying of heat? It may sound crazy, but if you wet a shirt, wring it out, and put it on, you'll feel HUGE relief. Especially if you live in a dry place. Once the shirt dries, you can repeat the process over and over again until you feel better. Yes, I know everyone will look at you weird, but who cares? Anything to avoid dying in the middle of a climate attack!

I'm looking forward to seeing where your newsletter goes! You've been very supportive already, and your kind words are always appreciated. Thanks for being you!
I can't wait to see what you bring us, Abigail! I'm so excited to follow your journey here! (By the way, all of these ideas are awesome!!!)
